School Assembly Workshops
Our tutors are all highly experienced at teaching young people and are of course DBS checked.
MaxRock are offering a free of charge workshop to schools within the local area. The workshop consists of a short (15 minute) session that involves the audience in helping to construct a simple beat to a modern tune.
This terms lesson focuses on the construction of a simple 4/4 beat on a drum kit using the 'Boom Bap' analogy. The lesson involves the audience in foot stamping and hand clapping and is therefore very interactive. Pupils might also be invited up to play the beat themselves as part of the interactive session. The tutor will then explain how the beat it set up using 3 played notes and a rested note within the 4/4 pattern. A well know rock track will be used to demonstrate this and show to the children how something so simple can sound so good. The workshop is aimed to be fun!
We will bring along the percussion and sound equipment and set everything up. All we ask of the school is to distribute to each pupil a simple A5 flyer to take home to their parents.
Our lessons are outside of school hours, so there is no disruption to the schools schedules.
Also, we promote the Trinity Rock & Pop syllabus which is an accredited grading system that may also count towards future UCAS points.
